Mediclinic International selects Orchestra Networks' EBX for Multidomain MDM
Global healthcare provider to streamline indirect purchasing
STELLENBOSCH, SOUTH AFRICA and PARIS, FRANCE November 26, 2013 - To facilitate streamlined, consolidated procurement information across its international operations in four countries, Mediclinic International, a global healthcare provider, has selected Orchestra Networks' EBX5 software for its multidomain master data management program.
Mediclinic delivers world-class patient care across a network of 68 private hospitals and eight clinics, operating more than 9300 beds in South Africa, Namibia, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates. At present, each of these businesses is responsible for its own procurement. Mediclinic's initial multidomain MDM project will use EBX5 to facilitate indirect purchasing by matching and consolidating detailed procurement information for each organization's products. Sourcing supplies from global vendors will enable Mediclinic to create economies of scale and reduce costs.
"We spend a lot more than we should on procuring pharmaceuticals, because each business is responsible for ordering their own, and we are planning to use EBX5 to rein in these costs," said James Herbert, Group Procurement Manager: Mediclinic International. "Since it is crucial that we classify our pharmaceuticals correctly, EBX5 also allows us to include non-technical personnel, such as pharmacists in our distributed data governance workflows."
Mediclinic's initial focus will be on product data, but they plan to create a comprehensive data management programme that will span the entire organization.
"EBX5 was the only MDM solution that met our functional and technical requirements including the eCl@ss product classification, integration with existing SAP applications, and support for business users," continued Herbert. "We foresee building upon these capabilities as we expand the scope of our enterprise-wide multidomain MDM usage. We recognize that accurate and consistent information is fundamental to living up to our vision of providing cost-effective, evidence-based care to our patients - EBX5 makes that possible."
EBX5 is the only master data management software to provide true multidomain capabilities and a 100% browser-based user interface—one single solution that spans the entire master data lifecycle. Features include: Data Modelling, Hierarchy Management, Collaborative Workflow, Embedded Data Quality, Data Authoring, Version Control, Security & Permissions and Integration & Distribution.
"We are proud that Mediclinic has chosen to build the foundation of their multidomain MDM program on EBX5," said Christophe Barriolade, President and CEO of Orchestra Networks. "With over twenty three thousand employees on three continents, Mediclinic has stringent master data requirements. Their selection proves, again, that EBX5 can satisfy the complex master data governance needs of global organizations."
Mediclinic International, founded in 1983, is an international private hospital group with operations in South Africa, Namibia, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates. A private hospital group focused on providing world-class acute care, specialist-orientated, multidisciplinary hospital services and related service offerings, Mediclinic places science at the heart of their care process by striving to provide science-based care of the highest standard.
