It is important to avoid duplication of data as this prevents long data input operations, which are fastidious and lead to errors. To achieve this, EBX.Platform relies on a unique inheritance technology. It allows the creation of a "Master Data instances tree" from an initial Master Data model and the management of inheritance rules between instances. Each instance inherits from its parent.

Overwrite |
On any instance, it is possible to overwrite inherited values, in order to adapt Master Data. For example, a label is localized, a price is changed for a local context. Overwrite works for adding records, updating records or deleting records (called occultation). |
Rights |
Inheritance works with rights management. It is possible to delegate rights to roles and users on each Master Data instance. |
